Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency expressed its condolences over the death of Russian media representatives, AzVision.az reports.
"The Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan expresses sorrow over the incident, conveys its condolences to the relatives of the media representatives who lost their lives while performing their professional duties, to the Russian media community, and wishes the injured journalist a swift recovery.
“We would like to inform you that it is important to ensure the safety of journalists working in conflict zones.
As a result of Armenia's aggression, the Azerbaijani media has also suffered such losses. Salatin Asgarova, the “Molodyoj Azerbaydjana newspaper correspondent was killed in 1991, Maharram Ibrahimov, the Azerbaijan State News Agency correspondent, and Siraj Abishov, the Azerbaijan Television cameraman, lost their lives as a result of explosion of an anti-tank mine planted by Armenian armed forces in Susuzlug village of Azerbaijan’s Kalbajar district in 2021,” it further noted.
“The Media Development Agency of Azerbaijan believes it is crucial to create a safe and enabling environment for journalists to receive information, regardless of where they work, particularly in major conflict zones,” the Agency added.
