SOCAR commissions prolific well in Caspian Sea
Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will additionally produce 102.2 million cubic meters of gas and 29,200 tons of condensate per year as it has put into operation a new well at the Bulla Deniz field in the Caspian Sea, said SOCAR in a message Nov. 16.
Drilling of the well started in July 2015, said the message.

Gas and condensate are extracted from a well-bore within the range of 6,182-6,003.5 meters.

Operation of the Bulla Deniz field started in 1975. More than 62 billion cubic meters of gas and 12 million tons of oil and gas condensate have been produced at the field since then.

SOCAR produced 5.68 million tons of oil at the country’s offshore and onshore fields in January-September 2016, as compared to 6.21 million tons in the same period of 2015.

The company produced 8.16 million tons of oil at those fields in 2015, as compared to 8.32 million tons in 2014.

In total, 41.59 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2015 compared to 42.02 million tons in 2014.
