  Global coronavirus cases surpass 45 million

The number of novel coronavirus cases in the world has surpassed 45 million, according to Worldometers.

More than 1.18 million people have lost their lives around the world from COVID-19 so far.

The number of recoveries worldwide stands at over 32.95 million.

The virus has spread to at least 210 countries and regions since it was first detected in China’s Wuhan city late last year.
