North Korea speeds up nuclear program, say American experts
North Korea has accelerated its nuclear program and will have reserves of fissile materials enough for making 79 nuclear warheads by 2020, American experts have found Tuesday in a survey conducted under the guidance of President of the Institute for Science and International Security David Albright.

North Korea possesses 30-34 kilograms of weapons-grade plutonium of which up to nine nuclear warheads can be produced, survey findings indicated.

Specialists, including former security officers, diplomats and nuclear scientists came to conclusion that North Korea was building up production of weapons-grade plutonium and enriched uranium. First and foremost, such works are under way at the Yongbyon nuclear facility where a plutonium reactor is located, gas centrifuges are mounted for uranium enrichment and a light-water reactor is being built.
