Chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikhail Saakashvili announced plans to build a ferry in Odessa for the delivery of goods to Europe, bypassing Russia.
It was published on on the official website of the city.
"Cargo is transported through Russia during 30 days. All logistics takes nine days including transportation through Azerbaijan, Poti to Odessa. To forward a business here, you must, first, to reduce tariffs for transportation. They are too high. Second, we need ferries, logistics centers," Saakashvili said.
He also noted that there are already investors who were willing to build a ferry and restore cargo shipping.
